Overview
Nikki Alieva is an associate practicing in Connell Foley LLP's Environmental Group with a focus on matters pertaining to Article 12 of the New York Navigation Law (Oil Spill Act) and New Jersey’s Spill Act. She also practices in Connell Foley’s Insurance Defense, Product Liability and Tort Law, and Commercial Litigation Groups. Her background includes all phases of litigation including drafting pleadings, discovery, deposing witnesses, mediations, motion practice, trial preparation and settlements. She takes pride in understanding the legal and factual background of each matter and tailoring her client’s defense and litigation strategy accordingly.
Prior to joining the firm, Nikki was an associate with a medical malpractice defense firm representing physicians, nurses and hospitals. She also has experience conducting hearings in front of administrative law judges as part of her role as an attorney with the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission.
During law school, Nikki worked as a legal intern for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the Emergency and Remedial Response Division handling matters involving the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA). Nikki is fluent in Russian and proficient in Spanish.
