On Dec. 23rd, Partners Jeffrey W. Moryan and John P. Lacey won a $20.5 million jury verdict in federal court on behalf of their client Kimberly Valentini. The lawsuit against the Ford Motor Company was brought after the New Jersey woman suffered brain injuries in a Bronco II rollover in 1995. Messrs. Moryan and Lacey successfully argued that the car was defective in its design and that Ford failed to warn that it was prone to rollover. Ms. Valentini was awarded $1.5 million for past medical expenses, $13 million for future medical costs, $5 million in compensatory damages and $1 million for past and future lost income.
