ROSELAND, N.J./July 29, 2011 -- Connell Foley partner John P. Lacey's term as President of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey has ended. The Association is an 800-member group of attorneys who regularly practice in the federal courts of New Jersey. John, who has been an officer of the organization since 2004, served as the leader of the organization for nearly two years. He will now hold the position of Immediate Past President.
“It has been an exciting and very rewarding time for the Association of the Federal Bar and for me personally,” Lacey said. “I have had the honor to work closely with Chief Judge Brown, the District Judges and the Magistrate Judges throughout the District of New Jersey. As a result, we have implemented a comprehensive pro bono program that will provide free legal services for the poor who are involved in cases in our federal courts. We also have provided significant continuing legal education programs to our attorneys and various other opportunities for our judges and attorneys to discuss issues of importance in federal court cases.”
Connell Foley Managing Partner Michael X. McBride expressed his gratitude for John’s leadership of the Federal Bar: “For more than 7 years, John has taken time from his busy schedule to help lead the members of the Association of the Federal Bar. During that time, he continued his work as a tenacious trial attorney and litigator, handling some of the most complex commercial and environmental cases ever brought in the courts of New Jersey. I want to personally thank John for his dedication and to congratulate him on his successful work as President of the Association of the Federal Bar.”
