ROSELAND, N.J./March 26, 2008 -- Jodi Anne Hudson, counsel, and Owen C. McCarthy, associate, were recently designated Certified Civil Trial Lawyers by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. The designation was awarded to the pair based upon their experience, education, knowledge, and skill in civil trial law. In addition, each had to pass a written examination and be recognized by their peers as having sufficient skills and reputation in the area of civil trial law.
The certification process was established by the Supreme Court of New Jersey in 1980 for the purpose of helping consumers find attorneys with a recognized level of competence in their particular area of law.

The certification process is rigorous and only the most knowledgeable and skilled lawyers can achieve this designation,” said Richard J. Ms. Hudson is a member of our Commercial Litigation and Insurance Defense practices. Since joining Connell Foley in 2000, she has tried more than 25 cases focusing largely on civil litigation and insurance coverage and defense. Ms. Hudson served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney's Office from 1997 until she joined Connell Foley in 2000. Ms. Hudson is currently the Director of the Interscholastic Moot Court Board at Seton Hall School of Law, a position she has held since 2000. Mr. McCarthy is also a member of our Commercial Litigation and Insurance Defense practices. Since joining Connell Foley in 2003, he has tried more than twenty cases to verdict representing defendants in civil litigation and insurance coverage disputes. He is a member of the Justice Morris Pashman Inns of Court and a Certified Mediator by the State of New Jersey. Mr. McCarthy has previously served on the Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, served as Deputy Mayor for the Borough of Fair Lawn, Bergen County and as Treasurer for the Bergen County Housing Authority.
