Connell Foley’s Real Estate Attorneys Charles “Chuck” Harrington and Jennifer Bogdanski successfully assisted Landmark Hospitality and Landmark Developers in obtaining unanimous 7-0 approval from the Jersey City Zoning Board for a use variance and height variance for the Albion Hotel project in Jersey City. This project will incorporate the old Capital One Bank building into a nine-story, 72-room boutique hotel, which will feature various amenities, including an art gallery and a rooftop bar. The application was a contested application that was opposed by the adjacent condominium building and a number of local neighborhood associations in the area, and the application spanned over five Zoning Board hearings.
Frank Cretella, the owner of Landmark, hopes to start construction in early 2026, with an estimated project cost of $30 million.
