Connell Foley is pleased to announce that Partner Steve Barnett, PE, CIH, MSPH, Esq. has been elected Co-Chair of the American Chemical Society (ACS) New York Section’s Chemical Marketing and Economics Group (CM&E). A practicing attorney for more than twenty years, Steve provides chemical industry clients with legal representation in all matters of health, safety and environment, including M&A due diligence, asset and company purchase and sale transaction agreements and other contracts, regulatory compliance, permitting and litigation. He started his career as a United States Air Force officer and environmental engineer and previously served as Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Counsel for the specialty chemicals company, Elementis.
ACS, founded in Manhattan in 1876 and chartered by the U.S. Congress, is the world's largest scientific society with over 160,000 members and the premier global home for chemists, chemical engineers and related professions. CM&E was established in 1954 by the ACS NY Section's steering committee in order to address the challenges of the chemistry industry in all of its phases. CM&E also conducts and supports a number of programs and activities to advance science, technology and math (STEM) education for students.
