Connell Foley LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has launched a Franchise and Distribution practice group dedicated to assisting regional, national and international brands in the myriad opportunities and challenges facing businesses in these industries.
The Group is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of experienced commercial, intellectual property, corporate, litigation and real estate attorneys who understand the business needs of franchisors and how to manage the complex relationship between franchisors and franchisees. The recent addition of several franchise litigators to the firm bolsters Connell Foley’s offerings in this area, while expanding the reach of the Group to a national level. Through the formation of an official Franchise and Distribution Group, the firm will deliver coordinated, full-service litigation and transactional counsel to its diverse set of franchise and distribution clients.
Spearheaded by Partner Bryan Couch, Connell Foley’s Franchise and Distribution Group is comprised of attorneys who are at the forefront of the industry, regularly publishing and speaking about related legal issues, while actively participating in the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising, the International Franchise Association, and other trade and bar associations.
The Group’s litigators have extensive experience obtaining favorable results for franchise and distribution clients in federal and state courts across the nation, as well as in alternative dispute forums. They counsel brands, distributors and other businesses in a wide range of disputes, including franchisee and distributor terminations, trademark infringement, unfair competition, encroachment, labor and employment matters, and non-compete issues. On the transactional side, the Group provides guidance for all aspects of the franchise business, including the evaluation, registration, expansion and protection of franchise clients’ systems and other interests.
The Franchise and Distribution Group is comprised of Partners Bryan Couch and Thomas Scuderi, Of Counsel Patrick During and Noel Humphreys, and Associates Kelly Krug, Joseph Megariotis and Justin Vogel.
