Heather Kumer, an associate in Connell Foley's Cannabis Law Group, presents on two panel discussions at the 2019 New Jersey Planning Conference, held January 24-25, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick, NJ.
Heather joins moderator Marc Schwartz, NJ Cananbis Media, and panelists Chuck Latini of APANJ, Dara Servis of NJ Cannabis Industry Association and Bill Harrison of Genova Burns, on "Cannabis in New Jersey: Growin' Ganja or Building an Industry That Can Thrive in New Jersey?" This two-hour session explores the potential challenges and opportunities in the marketplace, including local planning and zoning issues.
Heather also participates on the panel "Planning for Cannabis in New Jersey," alongside Kelli Hykes of Weedmaps, Joe Segilia ofTerra Tech, and Sam Tracy of 4Front Ventures. This panel brings together industry and policy experts to help educate local officials about lessons learned in other states and countries that have zoned cannabis facilities and what these facilities actually entail. The panel hopes to facilitate a dialogue that will ensure safe, legal access to this new industry.
