Three Connell Foley partners will be among the presenters at the 2019 Annual Meeting and Convention of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA). The three-day program will be held May 15-17 in Atlantic City and features speakers and presenters from New Jersey’s federal, state, appellate and local courts, as well as leading attorneys and other professionals. Our partners will serve as moderators/panelists for two of the programs being presented.
Former Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno and Leo J. Hurley Jr., partners in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group, will lead the discussion on “No More All-Male Boards - Corporate Governance Upheaval and How to Advise Your Clients,” which will examine the constitutionality of mandated gender diversity on corporate boards. They will be joined in the discussion by Tanuja Dehne, Independent Director, Advanced Disposal Services/Granite Point Mortgage Trust, and Karen J. Kessler, CEO, Evergreen Partners, Inc. This panel will be presented on Wednesday, May 15, from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Karen Painter Randall, Chair of Connell Foley’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Group, will serve as the moderator for the program “Law Firms and the Cybersecurity Crisis: Be Prepared or Face the Consequences, ” which will take place on Wednesday, May 15, from 9:30 a.m. - 11:10 a.m. Panelists for the discussion, which will examine best practices for preventing and responding to a ransomware attack, include Michael Brodack, CISSP, Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge, FBI Newark Division; Stephen Ramey, Crypsis; and David Standish, IronPro Professional Liability.
