Bill Castner, a partner in Connell Foley's Health Care Group and former Senior Advisor on Firearms Policy for Governor Murphy, is a panelist for the webinar "The Litigated Presidential Election – How to Prepare for the Unexpected," hosted by New Jersey State Bar Association, New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE) and Rutgers’ Eagleton Institute of Politics on September 29, 2020.
The 2020 presidential election is expected to be among the most litigated in history, with legal contests happening before, during and after the election. What will this mean for the future of our democracy and for our every-day lives, and what lessons can lawyers learn from the high-profile, high-stakes lawsuits and strategies? This webinar will examine this unique time, including a discussion of the current state of election lawsuits and what is likely to happen pre-, during and post-election.
The program will include an introduction from John J. Farmer, Jr., Director and University Professor with the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Joining Bill Castner on the panel are: Lisa Chapland, Esq., New Jersey State Bar Association; Professor Ronald K. Chen, Rutgers Law School; Ryan Haygood, Esq., New Jersey Institute for Social Justice; Donna Kelly, Esq., Seton Hall University; William Palatucci, Esq., McCarter & English, LLP; and Maxim Thorne, Esq., Andrew Goodman Foundation.
