Overview

Philip Allogramento III practices primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and commercial law, banking law and finance, commercial litigation and professional liability. He concentrates on both litigation and transactional work, including the representation of both debtors and creditors in chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases.

Philip has represented individuals, corporations and financial institutions in matters concerning secured transactions, asset sales, note sales, and foreclosures, and he has litigated complex matters in state and federal courts, including fraudulent transfer, preference actions, negotiable instrument litigation and professional liability actions involving complex transactional issues and non-dischargeablity suits. He has also assisted debtors with the wind-down of businesses outside of the bankruptcy filing process and represented secured and unsecured clients in all aspects of insolvency law.

In addition to working on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters, Philip also has experience with estate planning, corporate law, construction and surety law.

While in law school, Philip served as managing editor of the Bankruptcy Developments Journal and as a legal intern at the U.S. Department of Justice.

  • Served as co-counsel to the debtor in a large chapter 11 hospital bankruptcy
  • Represented one of the largest suppliers of merchandising, assembly, and installation services in the United States as a chapter 11 debtor that resulted in a successful sale of the debtor’s assets
  • Served as counsel for the debtor in a successful pre-packaged chapter 11 bankruptcy for a real estate holding company
  • Represented a commercial real estate landlord in a bankruptcy dispute involving contested ownership of a liquor license
  • Represented banking institutions and insurance companies in check fraud, unauthorized banking transactions, and other issues arising from the Uniform Commercial Code and Federal Regulations
