Nature of Practice
We are hiring for an associate position in our Complex Casualty Litigation Group. Background and experience litigating cases based in Premises Liability, Toxic Tort, Labor Law and/or Product Liability is preferred. This is an opportunity to join a young, dynamic, creative practice group, with regular court hearings in state and federal court, depositions, site and product inspections, and client involvement.
Responsibilities include:
Regular participation in client meetings, conducting legal research, drafting memoranda, pleadings and motions, managing discovery, work with liability and damages experts, participating in hearings and trials, and other related litigation tasks.
Qualifications
2017 - 2023 law school grad
- Law degree and admission to the New York State Bar (admission to the NJ Bar is a plus, as is admission to SDNY and EDNY)
- Solid research and writing skills
- Creativity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
- Proficient use of legal research tools such as LexisNexis
- Experience in insurance defense, or other related areas of law is beneficial
- Interest in involvement with local bar associations, marketing, and business development
