As an update to our prior alert, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) now requires the use of the new Employment Eligibility Verification Form (Form I-9). This form applies to all employers in the United States and must be completed for each new employee hired. Employers must now use the new Form I-9 as compliance became mandatory after April 30, 2020.
The new Form I-9, which bears a revision date of 10/21/2019, is available in PDF format on the USCIS website.
